Dr. BETTY VALENCIA

Dr. Valencia is a proponent of education equity and serves as the President of the Santiago Canyon Community College Foundation; President for the newly formed Hub for Integration, re-entry and employment for formerly justice-impacted individuals.

In 2019 Betty was named both Woman of the Year and one of OC Register’s TOP 100 Influencers in Orange County, CA.

Dr. Betty is a motivational speaker on civic engagement, health justice, education equity, immigration reform, environmental justice, transformational leadership, LGTBQIA+ equity and a published author.

Betty was born in Mexico City, is the youngest of 12 children, and is married to her long-time partner Laura Villa.

This year her mantra is “question everything”.
