Some tech workers over 50 are literally working themselves to death — and other things we discovered about their careers
Research has shown that people over fifty are being laid off at jobs especially in the tech field where the median age is approximately in the mid thirties. One of the problems is that people from 50-65 years of age making a high end salary are being let go for younger, cheaper labor. Once this demographic gets laid off it then becomes harder to find jobs especially at the same salary. Even though age discrimination is against the law, there are strategies companies use to circumvent the law.

On the other hand some reports show that older workers are finding work because of higher demand. They might either be doing part time or consulting type of work but the good news is that there are options. Read more…
