Show Notes

Fearlessly Facing Fifty

At the age of 49, Amy started to get the feeling that there was something different she needed to do at this stage of her life. After moving eleven times, living abroad, bringing up three children with her husband of twenty-seven years and going through many life transitions at once, Amy felt something was not right. This prompted a visit to the doctor where they were concerned with her elevated blood pressure which made Amy realize it was time to care of herself.

Starting her career as a broadcast journalist gave her the experience and passion to continue her story telling trek with Fearlessly Facing Fifty, a website and podcast platform. Through her stories and interviews she inspires women in their forties and beyond to gain the confidence needed when deciding to make a change in midlife. By fearlessly launching her podcast and interviewing such notaries as Joan Lunden, her business expanded as she was invited to present a Ted Talk on her cannonball way of life along with other speaking engagements.

One of the major transitions in her life as you’ll hear in the podcast prompted her to write her book that was in the back of her mind for years. The book named “Cannonball! Fearlessly Facing Midlife and Beyond” became a #1 bestseller on Amazon in the midlife management category. It shows that one person’s journey can connect with others who have experienced similar life transitions.

In the words of Amy, “You’re never too old, and it’s never too late. Reaching ‘the middle’ doesn’t mean you have to become invisible- it’s a time to step outside your comfort zone and do something that makes you uncomfortable- because that’s where the good stuff happens.”
